Salado Library Program 2009

Discussion Schedule

Library Literary Discussion and Film Series

The Salado library is sponsoring five “community conversations” about these themes as part of a nationwide reading and book discussion program called “Let’s Talk About It.” These discussions will be based on five specially selected books and related films shown at the Silver Spur Theater. Dr. Lynette Reed will guide participants in exploring the concepts of love, forgiveness and wisdom as presented in these books and films.  Dr. Reed is a Salado-based educator, consultant, speaker, and author. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Spirituality, Sustainability, and Inter-Religious Dialogue.

The books selected for the “community conversations” are: Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, The History of Love by Nicole Krauss, Bel Canto by  Ann Pachett, The Essential Rumi  translated by Coleman Barks, and Atonement by Ian McEwan.
