Sara Speaks, Summer 2006

Time to Renew Your Membership
Fall ‘06 Programs to Start Saturday,  September 30
Update on Institute Activities

Time to Renew Your Membership:

Membership renewal notices went out in early June for the 2006-07 membership year. We are keeping dues the same—$90 for dual membership and $50 for single membership. We have a great year of programs already planned.

The fall program series, “Let Your Life Speak: Finding Your True Path,” will feature presentations about the search for meaning in our lives and work. Our spring ’07 series will be on the timely topic of privacy vs. security and convenience.

We hope you will want to join us for both of these important series by renewing your membership for the coming year (2006/2007) that begins in July.

If you are not a member of the Institute and would like to join and be eligible for the year’s programs, we would welcome you!  Please fill out this  membership application. Then send it and a check to the Institute at P.O. Box 527, Salado, TX, 76571. We will mail you registration information and a brochure for the fall series in August.

Bernard Rapoport begins the series September, 30, with a presentation at 5:00 Details to be announced.

Dr. Gregory Pence will speak on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m. Details TBA.

Update on Institute Activities:

Living Room Theatre Benefit for Institute: The Institute was the beneficiary of a special fundraiser, compliments of the Salado Living Room Theatre. That event at TenRock featured members of the Living Room Theatre performing a murder mystery during a specially catered lunch.  The proceeds from that special performance were given to the Institute. We are most appreciative! Thanks, Ramon!!

Wilmer Memorial Lecture Created: The first, annual Wilmer Memorial Lecture was held June 4, of this year, with philanthropist/businesswoman Marilyn Tam presenting the lecture. The Harry Wilmer Lectureship, formerly held in January, was combined with the Hank Wilmer Memorial Lecture, to create the Wilmer Memorial Lectureship to honor both Harry and Hank Wilmer. It was free and open to the public.

Tam is the founder of the Us Foundation whose purpose is to raise the awareness of and to promote and create action to support the highest common good, and the interconnectedness of all. The Us Foundation serves as a network and consultant for people, organizations and businesses that are aligned with this mission, so they can unite their energies to further the transformation to a mutually responsible and cooperative global society.
